The Exploded View residency at The Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls, Mass., includes a juried exhibition of more than two dozen artists, a performance, generative work and a series of related events.

 — January and February, 2020 —
January 5–February 29 — You Are Here Community Art Exhibit
Work by regional artists in multiple media exploring maps, the significance of place, and movement across boundaries.
January 12, 1–3 p.m. — You Are Here: Reception and Performance
Artists’ reception for the juried community show at 1 p.m., followed at 2 p.m. by a new performance by Exploded View members Trish Crapo, Edite Cunhã, Candace Curran, Nina Rossi and Samantha Wood. 
January 19, 1–3 p.m. — Put Your Story on the Map A community mapping project focusing on Turners Falls that combines personal history with visions for the future.
January 26, 1–3 p.m. — Napping
These are overwhelming times and sometimes we just need to go to bed. So come do it! Bring your own mat and/or blanket. Live ambient music with theremin.
January 30, NOON–1:30p.m. — Write Here! 
Brown bag generative writing workshop using the Discovery Center as a prompt. Bring your lunch and stay for part or all of the workshop.
February 2, 1–3 p.m. — Mapping the Heart
Make a valentine for your loved one, human or wild. Or make a valentine to send to your favorite climate activist, scientist, senator or congress-person. Supplies will be provided.
February 23, 1–2:30 p.m.  — Surveillance in Our Everyday Lives
Michael Jackson, editor of 
The Montague Reporter, will lead an open discussion on the increasing surveillance of our movements, actions, and associations. How can we reduce this growing record?
February 29, 1–3:00 p.m. — Exploded View Open Mic Reading
Join Exploded View’s ongoing conversation about mapping, the significance of place, and movement across boundaries. Each reader will have up to five minutes.
